WhatsApp is reportedly in talks with State Bank of India and other financial institutions in order to integrate United Payments Interface (UPI) into the messaging platform. A report from Economic Times states that WhatsApp has initiated discussions with Indian banks and other institutions to allow its users to make payments via UPI. WhatsApp is currently the most used messaging application, and is reportedly used by over 200 million users. Hence, including a payment service on the platform will surely make fund transfer process very convenient for the users.
